About me
Vivian McBride, the author, was born and raised in Tupelo, Mississippi. She moved to Mt. Clemens, Michigan, when she was about six or seven years old. The author grew up in a five-family home with her parents, one sister, and an older brother. In addition, her mother raised a boy cousin who was younger than Vivian, her brother, and her sister. Vivian grew up with a highly abusive father; he wasn’t as bad with the kids as with her mother, and it was the most traumatic aspect of her childhood.

This book is undoubtedly a good read. A friend recommended it to me, and I loved reading it – till the very end. It helped me to find peace within myself.
I know we all have a purpose, and we are here because God wants us to serve Him. This is one of the finest books about creating a bond with God I have read.
I found this book soothing. It reminded me that my struggles would end someday, and I would be okay because God is with me.
The most challenging aspect of my journey was around people who didn’t understand me, and there were many. Those who think too small can’t understand the gift because all they can see throughout the process is your struggle. They believe you will always be in that situation. They can’t see the bigger picture because they aren’t on that level or have that connection with God. They keep trying to put you in a small place because they don’t understand what it means for God to promote you after being faithful in the wilderness. They consider themselves superior to you just because they do things the way the rest of the world does.
